Over the years, the Chantiers Chibougamau family has grown and changed. In 2015, Scierie Landrienne was added to our group and, in 2020, we relaunched the Nordic Kraft mill in Lebel-sur-Quévillon to provide kraft pulp essential to the manufacture of tissue paper and food packaging, among others. We acquired Scierie La Sarre and Scierie Béarn in March 2023 and Scierie Matagami in January 2025 to consolidate our existing operations and continuously enhance the group's autonomy and resilience.
Our Nordic Structures team is composed of professionals who accompany construction industry partners in the use of our engineered products, I-joists and mass timber beams, columns and panels, from distribution to turnkey projects.
“Nordic” is also the brand name for all our products.
Chantiers Chibougamau represents 1 700 men and women who contribute to the processing of some 3 million cubic meters of wood for the annual production of 700 million board feet of lumber, wood that could be used to build 55 000 single-family homes a year, over 80 million linear feet of I-joists, mass timber that could be used to build hundreds of square meters of low-carbon construction projects, some 300 000 tons of kraft pulp and over 30 megawatts of renewable energy.
